- Take toor dal soaked in water for 15 minutes add it in a pressure cooker
- Add turmeric, chilli powder, salt, ghee and water
- Close the lid and cook until 2 whistles on medium heat
- Take spinach and cut it into thin strips.
- Now add ghee, cumin seeds, hing, ginger and garlic in pan - fry it for a minute
- Add green chillies, and fry it a little - now add onion
- Fry until it becomes translucent - add tomatoes
- Cook until it becomes soft - add salt, chilli powder and coriander powder - mix it well
- Add the dal and mix it - now add the palak and mix it - boil it for 2 minutes
- Add lime juice and coriander leaves - mix it well
- For tadka…. - add ghee and cumin seeds - let it crackle
- Add dry red chillies and chilli powder - mix it

This is a salad or pronounced in Urdu (Salaad) goes very well with masoor daal (red lentil) and chaawal (rice). It is a little lemony and minty.
