Millet bisibelebath is a complete healthy meal, a one-pot meal, prepared with any kind of millet, toor dal and vegetables using the pressure cooker. Today I chose foxtail millet-which is called as Thinai in Tamil, to make Millet bisibelebath. bisi bele bath recipe bisibele bhath or bisibele rice with step by step photo and video recipe. the word bisi bēle bhāt literally means hot lentil rice mixture in kannada language. it is perhaps one of the most common recipe prepared in almost every households in south india. either for breakfast or lunch or even tiffin box, it is one of the most preferred rice recipe. Steps to make Bisibelabath- one pot recipe:
- First dry roast the ingredients given above. Roast the ingredients except coconut into light brown without oil and kept aside.
- Then dry roast the coconut that will change into light brown and kept aside. Grind all the roasted ingredients into a fine powder.
- Take a small cooker in that add a TSP of oil and add mustard seeds. When it starts sputtering add Fenugreek seeds, coriander leaves. Then add small onion and roast it.
- Once the onion colour slightly changes into light brown and then add all the vegetables such as carrot, peas, beans, potato, drumstick, capsicum, sweet corn.
- Just roast all the veggies then add rice and toor dal. Don't soak the rice.
- Add 4 cups of water and add salt, turmeric powder and dry roast powder.
- Then pressure the cooker into 4 whistles. Once the pressure released open the pressure cooker and garnish bisibelabath with cashews if needed.
- Serve hot with papad, onion raita and chips. Yummy lunch box recipe. Everyone loves it very much.
