Miki bihon, like pancit bihon guisado, has no fast rules in terms of ingredients to use. I usually prepare it with whatever meat, seafood and vegetables I have on hand. Preparation: Blanch bihon and miki noodles in hot water.

Pancit bihon or "Pansit" is a Chinese-Filipino food dish and one of the variety of Pancit Guisado recipes that I love to cook. This pansit bihon is the commonly requested recipe of my children specially my youngest daughter because she really love pancit or any noodle recipe. In Filipino cuisine, pancit are noodles and the dishes made from them, usually made with rice noodles. Noodles were introduced into the Philippines early on by Chinese settlers in the archipelago, and over the centuries have been fully adopted into local cuisine, of which there are now numerous variants and types.

Instructions to make Asian noodles (Mikibihon):
  1. Soak vermicelli noodles in hot water (not boiling water)
  2. heat oil on pan and panfry the meat fir few minutes until slightly cooked. Set aside
  3. With the left oil in the pan, saute onions until transparent then the garlic. Add the carrots and mushroom abd cooked for few minutes. Add cooked meat and chicken
  4. Pour in the soysauce and add the soaked vermicelli noodles until mixed (soysauce covers thenoodles)
  5. Add the japanese noodles and mix everything.
  6. Add water and cabbage on top. Wait until thenoodles absorbs the sauce and cabbage a bit cooked
  7. Serve and enjoy

The term pancit is derived from the Hokkien pian i sit (Chinese: 便伊食. Add-in salt, pepper, soy sauce, oyster sauce, chicken cube (diluted). Put-in the miki noodles, and mix together with all the ingredients. Also called sotanghon, vermicelli noodles are thin, transparent noodles made out of a combination of mung-bean starch and potato starch. Simply soak the dried noodles in hot water then use in your desired recipe.
